There is a summary of the ideas in the spreadsheet titled “Cover Page.”  There is also a summary of the effects of each proposal in the spreadsheet titled “Challenges Addressed.”  We suggest you start with these two pages and then review the proposals that interest you in any order you wish.

> We need your input on these ideas.  Comments, criticisms, changes.  We started with 14 ideas and already set aside four.  We believe all of the remaining ten ideas have merit and deserve your consideration.

> Each proposal contains our summary of the current situation for a particular area.  Each has a summary of the problems we believe ACBL faces due to the current situation.  We then provide a proposed solution, a method of implementing our solution, and an estimate of the funding required. > Share these ideas with other parts of our bridge community.  We plan to post links to these proposals on BridgeWinners.  We may share some or all with clubs, teachers, district and unit officers, and with individual members of ACBL.
> Accumulate the feedback we receive.  Improve the proposals.  Share revised versions of them with the Board (and our communities).
> Ask the Board to rank order the proposals from 1 (best) to 10 (worst), based on their value and the effect they could have on ACBL’s future.
> Ask you, our Board of Governors, to rank order the proposals in the same way.

> We expect to start the voting process soon—at the beginning of October.  This will allow us to record all of your opinions (the voting will be secret) and generate a score for each proposal.  We can then include this score sheet in the Board briefing book for San Diego.

> Some of these proposals would require codification changes to implement.  All of them probably need to be discussed and further improved by one or another Board Committee.  We do not expect all of the proposals to be approved—and our staff probably couldn’t execute all of them at once!
