Through a partnership with the Education Foundation, we are now able to pay expenses and offer stipends to those who are willing to form and coach a college team.  We plan to support these teams with training from our TDs, local teachers, and (we hope) unit and club members.  We have already had a commitment from District 7 to field five teams (they had the winning team this year—Georgia Tech) and we hope other Districts can do the same.  With your support, we could see 50 or more teams competing (instead of the 17 we had this year).  We believe each team will introduce at least 10 young people to bridge. > We have also started researching district and tournament financials.  Our goal is to provide an overview of how the ACBL looks financially, as a whole.  We believe we can build “best practice” guidance that will help unit and district boards and tournament chairs create better budgets and financial forecasts.  While many Districts have cooperated with this effort, a few still have not given us the financial reports we need.  We’ll be reaching out to get the rest of the info we need, soon.  After we understand district and financial data, we may start to look at unit, club, and teacher information as well.
