[SBU Board] Tournament costs sensitivity analysis

Hi all,
This is an analysis I did for the board last year, as we were considering
whether we needed to raise the entry fees for tournaments. It considers
estimated fixed costs, with a variable site cost ranging from our lowest
site up to some of our more expensive venues under consideration, and then
considers entry fee levels vs. player counts, where we end up in terms of
tournament revenues or losses.
I mention this in part because as we look at potential tournaments later
this year or even into next year, having this information can help us make
good decisions as well as understand our potential risk. While we can
definitely afford to lose money on tournaments for some period of time
(depending on how much we lose, of course), we have generally tried to
"break even" over the course of a year, often with one tournament (the May
KO in Bothell) providing the revenue that makes us even while the rest lose
money.
The Bothell IUOE hall has been our cheapest site and thus is lowest risk
for resuming a tournament; if any of our newer board members were confused
why that was the board's automatic pick last night to consider for the
fall, that is why. :)
This also can help for folks interested in putting together a proposal on a
non-tournament event, in terms of what the site costs tend to run.
