I would think there's little to worry about with your machine.  I've used Mandriva 2009 with KDE on a Norhtec Microclient Sr, 500 MHz X86 and 512 KB RAM.  It wasn't fast enough for wife, but I didn't mind it.  Of course I wasn't using any 3D eye-candy or anything.  So long as Drupal doesn't bog down a machine.  I haven't used Drupal.
