Winmail.dat (TNEF) files

Lately I seem to be having a problem with winmail.dat attachments. I haven't
been able to decode the last couple of files that I've received. The first
time it happened I just assumed that the file was corrupted, but now I'm
beginning to wonder if I have a problem.
I have the program tnef (version 1.4.7) installed and I've tried it with every
possible combination of options. Basically, nothing seems to happen. For
example, from the command line I enter: '$ tnef -f winmail.dat' and I just get
another command prompt -- no errors, no files, nothing.
If I enter '$ file winmail.dat' the system correctly recognizes the file:
"Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format".
Can anyone give me a clue?
Thanks in advance!
