Best Chip Set(s) for AMD Phenom?

Mind if I ask why?  There's a good reason why they're hemorrhaging
cash, and its because their products are inferior.

Tyan generally speaking makes solid motherboards.  My experience with
Gigabyte products has been less than stellar, but if you're looking to
throw money (away) at ATI/AMD, then go with the board that has an ATI
chipset too.

I've never heard that, but I'm biased.

You didn't state what you intended to use this motherboard for, so its
difficult to provide much in the way of recommendations (Tyan &
Gigabyte are about as far apart in targetted market segment as you can
get).

I purchased 8 of these a few months ago, and they're working without
any issues in Linux, in a very high stress environment:
