We have been running CentOS since version 4.5, and I'm generally happy with
it.  We don't do much with Linux desktops, using primarily OS X, but I do
use many Linux applications that might be considered desktop (e.g. docbook,
gimp), and find they usually work better than what I've seen on various
SuSE Pro and Enterprise distributions.
