True enough; no one would claim otherwise.

Also true, but when I'm ready to burn something, the last thing I want
to do is screw around with less-than-obvious settings hidden in
various-not-so-obvious places, so I reach for the simple command-line
tools I know. I found, for example, that the DVD writing options
ignore my request for a specific speed. And before you ask, no I don't
know which version of K3B.

Maybe I'll tinker with k3b again when the new-as-in-Tide version is
ready. I'm like a typical [l]user in this respect. If something shiny
and new doesn't work out of the box, frequently I grab what does work
and move on.
