Wouldn't hat be nice!!!  One problem is a lot of us older folks won't
pay taxes to support the things that were available to us in the
education field we had.  How about one text book publisher?  When I was
in school the State Printing Office printed all the State texts for
pennies.  Ya-oughta price the California State texts, now.  As I
understand it everybody else in the Country is stuck using them 'cause
that's what CA uses.  You can thank ol' R. Reagan when he was our (not
mine) Governor, for that.  A lot of friends in publishing.  Read the
Language Police, that's another costly blunder.  Another, when they
started teaching early elementary kids theory and not facts by rote.  We
crawled out of the cave learning early facts by rote.  Most don't need
theory, "just the facts, Mam".  That would be a beginning.

Another, would be to teach kids how to raise their kids.  Most of the
last of the kids I taught 16 years ago had parents who had no idea what
their kids needed.
