I was more fortunate than you. I had some number of shares (memory
fails me how many) granted to me as a bonus. The year part of the
options became exercisable, I managed to sell them at the maximum
stock price for the year. Not to be daunted by that, the company
managed to get the last laugh by laying me off before the final option
shares became mine.
