What is the exact command you're issuing to run it?  Do you have a movie 
that you're trying to play or are you just running a binary?

LIRC is for infrared remote control support.  Do you have an infrared 
remote control setup on your computer?  If not, then you don't need 
LIRC, but more importantly, you should have built mplayer without lirc 
support.

Also you didn't setup the font correctly.  As the message states, you 
need to provide a TTF font in ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf

Also, you need to run this as root:
echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq
