Especially if you have expensive taste (like I do).  I use the Icom
M-710 (gotta get one of those 850's though) connected to a Pactor II
Pro.  And my antennas aren't exactly dipoles either (I have a 160m
loop skywire 53 feet in the air).

And I try not to chintz on the computers either, but I don't yet have
an AMD64 like you all were talking about.

The wife leaves me to my devices as long as I'm not cluttering her
house with my junk (it's all out at my "antenna" farm sticking up
above the Papayas, etc.
