You're doing better than I am.  I've *never* been able to use the nvidia 
driver with any 2.6.x kernel version.  My GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 8x always 
works for about 5 seconds, and then X locks up, and there's a PCI bus 
error in the log.  The x.org driver works flawlessly.
