That would never work because regardless of who the 2 major parties put
on the block, Repub's and Dem's will vote for them because that is who
the party said to vote for. They will look for no alternative. Whether
or not they like that candidate or not, or if that candidate represents
their interests or not, they will vote because it is their party.

For example, I heard a radio spot about hunters and fishers, great
outdoorsman and nature lovers they are, but are hacked off at Bush
because of his complete disregard for the enviroment and blank check for
oil, timber, developers, et al industries to run roughshod over nature.
They are losing their wetlands, forests, and streams that they pursue
their passions in, many passed from father to son for generations. A
rite of passage if you will, much like that another poster mentioned was
lacking. They griped about this but said they had no choice but to vote
for him again because that is who their party was putting on the ticket.

People should take the time to research 3rd party candidates and cast
their vote for that candidate if one of the 2 major parties don't put up
a candidate that they like or agree with. A powerful message could be
sent to the political elite. We won't settle anymore.

Not that that would actually happen. People are to scared to vote
outside of their party. Kind of a pied piper type thing.
