Replacing the KDE file browser

Joel,

I'm hardly an expert on Debian, as I've been using it for less than a year,
but I think the answer to your question is "yes".

I believe the answer is on at least two levels. On the lowest level, check out
the directory '/etc/alternatives'. On my system there is an entry for
'www-browser' which points to lynx. This directory is a place for selecting
which, of several alternative programs, you wish to use for a particular
application. I'm not sure exactly where it is, but there is Debian
documentation explaining the how's & why's of this system.

Next, I believe you would have to edit the file associations for your desktop
of choice. In my case, using KDE, the associations for '*.html' files are
Konqueror, Quanta, Lynx & Firefox. Swapping Firefox for Konqueror, in the
first place, should do the trick.

Beyond that, there may also be some necessary changes in the KDE Control
Center, but I'm not sure of that.

HTH
