XFree86 vertical refresh rate.

I am using a AIT Radeon 9000 with my trial install of Redhat 8. The last 
time I tried using a vendor-provided Xfree86 driver, it failed. SO I 
tried to stick with VESA this time. Guess I had to download the Radeon 
driver if I had to use a healthier vertical refresh rate.
