FWIW, I truly feel for you. So far, I've extremely lucky with my upstream
ISP. They respond quickly to PTR update requests. In a month or so we're
moving to Qwest for voice and data service. Looking at the check list for
things that need to be verified and changed, I'm struck by just how
pervasive 30 ip addresses (27 bit block) can insinuate themselves into
your infrastructure. Firewall rules, vpns, domain name server records,
resource records, gad and the list goes on.
So far Qwest is a mixed bag. Dealing with the Sales side is kinda sucky,
conversely anytime I've dealt with their circuit repair folks the
experiece is rather good. I'm hoping the ISP technical side mirrors
this experience as well.
