With SO 7, a cold start is 10 secs, a repeat start is
6 secs.
I have a cheap Duron 1 GHz with 645 megs. (Memory is cheap
these days.)
Is is possible that all that swap memory is slowing
things down?
SO 6 on an almost identical computer with 256 megs takes
about two to three times as long to start.
