Heard great things about the Promise controllers.  I've used the 
HighPoint controllers with pretty good success.  I only found that it 
worked better if I installed Linux on one drive then created a mirror 
afterwards...  which could have been a SuSE thing.  Takes longer for 
GRUB to load.
