I have found overall, that the only way to control spam is to control your
mail directly. I cannot trust my ISP, or independent 3rd party mail servers.
Except for an occasional list spam, which I have no control over, I have
been spam free for 18 months... true... I run my own black/white list RBL,
then Spamcop's RBL, then a challenge / auth mechanism on many of my
addresses, and domains, and several other levels of spam prevention. I used
to also run Spamassassin, but found I did not need it, so stopped the
daemon. All worms/vermin, are rejected at the SMTP level, and do not even
get into the system...
