Freevo and DVD crash

Does anyone have any experience with Freevo (a OSS Tivo-like app)?

If so, I'm having a few difficulties getting everything to work as planned.

The one I'll ask about right now is a crash I get when starting Freevo with a DVD in the drive?  It doesn't happen without a DVD in the drive.  Movies play correctly etc... but once I stick a DVD in the drive it crashes

This is a DVD drive which is /dev/hdd aka /dev/dvd
There is also a CDRW drive on this system as well.
It appears there is a problem with the dvdinfo.py file but Python is beyond me...
