you noticed. Also, their shutdown doesn't always work. You still often
have to open a sqlplus console to stop the intances and shut down the
database. At least it works OK for startup. I'm not impressed by it,
but their DBA is a bit lazy. He doesn't mind waiting (or making me
wait) for the database to shutdown. With no one on, it takes only a
minute w/ sqlplus, but quite a while for the GUI. I would have expected
better from Oracle.
