forgot to say

uncheck the flatten image box
save arrow
if not up bring up the layers pallate by 
right click image.layers>layers,channels & paths
in the layers right click the back layer and you 
now have a transparent image

when right clicking in the image if you look carefully
there is a little dotted line near the top of the menu that pops up
carefully put your pointer on it and it turns into a little bar
let it go and the menu will windowize, makes work easier and jogs the
memory.
