According to a local computer tech (one of the best I've known) there is a 
"beta" bios on asus' ftp site. The crap_for_bios of that MB is even giving 
the wintendo crowd a run for their money. This is the second MB that asus has 
produced that had problems with the ata-100 drives. Both times it seems that 
the fix is a beta bios. I use to swear by asus MB's but not anymore.
