How can one fix/change forgotten creation password

Options:


  1.
Vim the map file.  Remove the encryption at top.  Back it up first.
  2.
Restore the map file from backup before it got messed up.
  3.
Have FP Tech do it.

These answers came from my filepro mentor of 8+ years.

FilePro 5.#

Just received a call from a colleague that renamed a file via explorer and after doing so, the creation password no longer works.

When he tries to IUA he is asked for a password - He cannot get passed this point!

He tried renaming the file back to its original name but no luck, somewhere along the way, this got corrupted or overwritten.

How can he fix this?  I would gladly assist him, but I always use fp provided utils tools to rename or copy files, never had an issue like this.
