Jeff,

Tim White encouraged me to send this email expressing my interest in a
Seattle Unit Board position. The latest Sun Newsletter suggests that I
address the following two points:

1.     Tell us about your interests in helping the game of Bridge.
I started playing this challenging game shortly before the start of the
COVID pandemic. Almost all of my bridge learning experience has come from
on-line lessons. Most of my game experience is from BBO games and I have
around 40 master points. It appears to me that the game of Bridge and the
ACBL are at an inflection point. While I don’t know what the result may be,
I’d like to help and participate in this transition.

2.     What do you see us doing that you know you could do better?
I find this is a hard question to answer. I’m not aware of the Unit’s goals
and objectives. I do find ACBL’s organizational structure (just like this
great game) complicated.

A little bit about myself. I hold a BS degree in Electrical and Computer
Engineering from Oregon State University and a Master of Engineering in
Electrical Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I am a
retired Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Washington. In 1993,
I co-founded Power Resource Managers (PRM) and served as its President and
CEO at the time it was sold in July 2006.  PRM was an independent energy
services business that specialized in the purchase, sale, and trading of
electricity and natural gas for electric utilities. For ten plus years
after 2006 I continued to provide consulting services to several Northwest
utilities and power plant developers. I am now fully retired.

In addition to learning the game of bridge, I enjoy photography and
developing web apps. I am active in my church.
