[SBU Board] nominating committee report out

Thank you to Gene and to the rest of the nominating committee!

Unless anyone objects, later this weekend I will:

   - let the candidates know of their pending appointment to the board (and
   thank them for their willingness to serve!)
   - offer to them the invitation to our upcoming board meetings
   - offer to them the option to be on the mailing list in advance of their
   official start date
