Based on meetings with Jeff Ford, Ann Romeo and myself, we agreed on the
following event plans. If you have feedback, please give it here, but we
need to finalize and approve by *Thursday at 5 PM *so that we have time to
publicize.

*Sunday May 2 at Noon: Mentor-Mentee pairs game.* Are you a mentor or a
mentee? Fate will decide. Based on masterpoints (with possibly some manual
adjustments based on known skill levels), the field will be divided into 4
quadrants. Mentors in Q1 will sit North and their mentees will be Q3
players sitting South. Mentors in Q2 will sit East and their mentees will
be Q4 players sitting West. Partners will all be selected randomly within
each quadrant and you will not be able to lock in a mentor or mentee.
Pre-registration will be online by Wednesday, April 28 and on Thursday,
April 29, you will learn your partner and have a few days to discuss your
conventions. Play will be on the RealBridge platform, and Jeff Ford will
direct the game. Due to the "randomness" of the partner selection, only
players below 500 MP will earn trophy points. This is to raise awareness
for the 0-500, Jabon and Junior masterpoint races, while keeping the top
players in a jovial non-competitive mood.

*The weekend of May 22-23 May KO event*: Saturday's games are 3 PM and 7
PM, so as not to conflict with Nick's 12:15 game (assuming he still wants
to run it).Sunday's games will be at noon and 4 PM. There will be an open
and 0-2500 bracket. If we get enough teams (at least 5 above and below 500
MP), we will break the 0-2500 bracket into 2 groups.
The plan is to use a unique format to avoid the inability to run 3-way
matches (and just to do things differently, since these are unsanctioned).
Round 1 will most likely be played in a 1-session Round Robin Teams format
in groups between 4 and 8 teams. The bottom teams in this 1st round will be
eliminated. Of the remaining teams, the top half will be seeded into the
bracket, while the bottom half will be assigned randomly.

For example, with 12 teams in open:
Round 1: the 12 teams will be divided into Pool A and Pool B, each with 6
teams.
Each team will play a 4-board match against each other team in their Pool.
5th and 6th are eliminated.
1A, and 2B will be on one side of the bracket, and 2A and 1B will be on the
other side.
3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B will be randomly assigned to play one of these 4 teams
in Round 2.

This event will be on RealBridge and be for Trophy points for all brackets.
We will need to hire a director.for the event. The Open event is scheduled
for 4 sessions. The 0-2500 event will be for 3 sessions, and if we have a
0-500 bracket, we will probably have the semis and finals as a combined
session for max 2 sessions.

*Trophy Point Club Games:* We forgot to discuss this, but I propose that we
make the following days in May also eligible for Trophy points:
Sat-Sun, May 15-16 (Grassroots Weekend)
Monday May 24 (Start of Silver Point Week)

Again, we need feedback and/or approval by Thursday at 5 PM.
