[SBU Board] Faux sectionals (e.g., Valentine's weekend) - how to broaden appeal?

I think I/N limited games are great ideas for us to consider for our future
virtual tournaments, but we are pretty loaded with tasks and logistics for
the February event as is. I'd prefer not to add another manually run event
to the February weekend plans at this stage. We are already very tight on
having time to promote this, especially for a team game given that players
have to find not one but three additional folks to play. If I have to hold
publicity much longer so we can settle in on details for an I/N event, I
don't think we'll get adequate participation to have made it worthwhile.

I also continue to be concerned about scheduling contingent with club games
(which Friday afternoon would be), and I think that needs to be an ongoing
consideration with these virtual events. My understanding is that
participation in the BBO ACBL club games is dropping nationally though our
local clubs have been able to hold relatively steady. I'd prefer for us to
maintain that trend in our area.

As for any other I/N events, I look forward to proposals brought to the
board. Let me know ~1 week before a meeting if you're (general you; any of
y'all) bringing a proposal, and I'll make sure it gets on the agenda.

JC :)
