The Old Cafeteria should be an excellent room for bridge, a little smaller
than Bothell, with linoleum floors, chairs, and windows along one side of
the room. (We're trying to get the precise dimensions of the room). The
smaller room (Butler) may not be necessary, at least on Friday and Sunday.
If we don't use it, it will save us almost $1000--something to consider,
and we have up until a week before the event to cancel it.
There is NO kitchen nor NO refrigeration at all. There is, a short
distance from the event, a sink that is good for the coffee, and we should
be able to prep Sunday breakfast there as well--it is not a good place to
leave food out, so not good during the rest fo the event. I have requested
a kitchen cart from Skylar, which will be useful to shlep pots from the
sink to the room. Lots of plugs in the room, for pots and for directors.
There will be a bit of a shlep when we unload and load the trailer--be
warned--wear sturdy shoes! The ground is level, and we're not talking
horrible (those who remember Shoreline know what horrible is...)Skylar said
her staff should be able to help with the unload--but not the reload, of
course. We'll see.
We will be using their PA system and mike. Yeah!
If this place works out (and right now, I don't see how it won't) we have
put the bug in Skylar's ear that we would like it next year, too. We'll
see about that, as well....
There is plenty of parking, just not immediately next to our venue. It is
recommended that people drop off their charges, then go park in approved
lots.
If this goes well....hooray for a new venue!
