In the rush at our meeting, I forgot to mention this, and I wanted to make all our 2019 tournament chairs aware of this, as chairs have been caught off-guard by this in the past.
If you are listed as the primary tournament chair, the ACBL will publish your phone number and email address on the ACBL website and in the Bulletin if they have it on record, regardless of what is on the sanction or the flyer and regardless of your communication preferences. Worse yet, the phone number they choose to publish is your mobile number (if available), then primary number, then secondary number. So, if you are getting text messages from ACBL Live, for example, your mobile number will be what gets published.
Several of us have voiced objections to this. Nonetheless, as far as I know, this remains their policy. The only way you can protect your contact info, if so desired, is to remove it from your MyACBL Account info entirely, which unfortunately means you won't get ACBL Live texts (if you remove mobile) or email announcements (if you remove email).
I can set up a bridgeinseattle.org<http://bridgeinseattle.org> email address for you if you wish to obscure your email. The address will auto-forward to your preferred email. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about mobile number. :(
Secondary chairs don't get published (to the best of my knowledge), so if you object but your co-chair doesn't, just make sure the one of you that is ok being published is listed first on the flyer. Right now, our primary tournament chairs are Ray, Eric, Patti, Mike, Ann, and John.
Thanks,
JC
