[SBU Board] fyi--single session BAM back on the schedule atSweetheart Sectional

Here's the data on Friday sessions. Running daylight on Friday resulted in
the least drop-off from session one to session two.

18% drop-off from morning to afternoon at Vasa in 2018
30% drop-off from afternoon to evening at Bothell in 2017
23% drop-off from afternoon to evening at Vasa in 2016

We tried the daylight schedule in 2018 for Friday as a test. The test
showed that we retain more players than with an afternoon/evening. With
that plus the lousy 9 table showing at fast pairs (which, again, has
nothing to do with how fast the rounds were...people made the decision to
be there expecting real fast pairs...for all we know, running it as a
sort-of-fast pairs would be a positive for attendance, not a negative, if
the reality is that fast pairs scares people off).

I'm a working player. I get screwed by this, because I'm not taking a day
off for a sectional generally speaking. But I still can't reasonably
justify running a 7pm session that few players hang around for. This one
being in winter and at Vasa makes a Friday evening particularly bad. Vasa
Park is dark even during a normal winter day. It's *very* dark at night,
and it's a hellacious drive to do after work. So, if we're picking one
sectional to do a full daylight on, this is the one to do it...and it seems
to have worked well for us.
