[SBU Board] 2019 Sun Tan Sectional Update

The D19 Tournament Coordinator has taken the position: "12-14 July is not available to you unless anacortes [sic] goes on a different week. The second Sunday in July is their traditional date.” I strongly suggest we not go to battle over this — we have apparently viable alternatives and it would be a battle we in all likelihood would lose. We run four open sectionals a year, Unit 439 runs one — Anacortes — and it has been anchored to the 2nd Sunday in July for years.
I think the idea of trying to get dates by preempting other units’ traditional dates, as a basis for arguing we are entitled to them, is not a good one. The D19 Tournament Coordinator is a party to the sanctioning process and would not permit units to do this, in my opinion.
