[SBU Board] Unit Game Dates

Hi All,

I'll be bringing these up tonight, but wanted to summarize in email as 
well in case people have a chance to review.

One thing I thought that hurt us last year was the late announcement on 
dates for the unit games. With that in mind, I was hoping to identify 
dates at the start of the year. I'm also hoping to put together a flyer 
with all these dates on them, would love guidance on how to do that in 
an attractive fashion :)

Unit Games:
RR Party Jan 28th - Looks like a good date for the RR party. However, I 
have tennis lessons until 12:30 and couldn't make it up to SBC until 1PM 
(and would be stinky at that). So options might be finding another date, 
getting help running it from someone who can be there earlier, pushing 
the start time back, or some combination of the above. The risk with 
pushing the start time back is we don't want to negatively impact UW.
May 13th - Trifecta Eight is Enough. Only conflict is mother's day, but 
otherwise this looks like a really good day.
June 17th - Trifecta Imp Pairs
June 24th - Round Robin Hosted Day, Nick was fine hosting these for a 
very affordable amount, so was planning to announce it as a day you can 
play at SBC and you'll have tables, a director to help, etc. This is a 
bit of an experiment, but matches stuff mentioned by others
Sept 16th - Captain's Teams. There's obviously some NFL risk with this 
date. However, I'm not sure how much it is worth rescheduling to avoid a 
home game. Jeff and Jim Aitken go to home games, how many others do? Can 
maybe mark "tentative" on the flyer and tweak if necessary
Oct 21st or 28th: Trifecta Fast Pairs

My plan was to see how popular the 1st RR hosted day was before possibly 
finding a 2nd one. Aug 12 might be a good day for a 2nd one, with the 
caveat that I'll be out of town for a volleyball tournament.

Another thing we talked about was bringing back the monthly unit game. 
The following clubs have expressed interest: Mercer Island, Mercercrest, 
SBC, EBC, Des Moines, UW, Alki. With that in mind, I tried to put 
together a schedule of 12 months that rotated between day games and 
evening/weekend games, spread the games out amongst the clubs, and tried 
to dodge tournaments or other things that might drive down attendance. I 
was planning to run these dates by the club owners, but wanted to also 
throw these out to the unit first:

January Unit Game: Mercer Island, Mon 1/29 7PM
February Unit Game: Alki Mon Feb 12th 10:30 AM
March: Sun Mar 4th UW 6 PM
April: Des Moine Apr 20 Fri 10:30 AM
May: EBC May 12, Sat 1 PM
June: EBC June 22nd Fri 10 AM
July: Mercercrest July 10, Tues 7 PM
August: SBC Aug 16, Thurs 10:30 AM
September: SBC Sept 20th, Thurs 7 PM
October: EBC Oct 23rd, Tues 10 AM
November: SBC Nov 17th, Sat 1PM
December: Alki, Wed Dec 19th 10:30 AM

Reminder: Basic concept is a MUG that happens at a standard game 
location. We advertise and track rewards, club owners benefit with 
hopefully increased attendance as well as being able to offer better 
like a charity game without having to pay charity game level sanction fees.
