Thanks, John.

I would like a copy of the filings.

I prepared the budget on the assumption that the attendance at the remaining tournaments in 2018 would be approximately the same as (or maybe slightly less than) the attendance at the corresponding tournaments in 2017.
In my view, the drop of almost 20% in the Sweetheart Sectional last week was attributable to holding it at Vasa Park, compared to Bothell last year.
We have nothing else scheduled at Vasa Park this year.
While the Kent tournament in July this year will be two days, compared to three last year at Forest Ridge, we have the opportunity to boost the turnout in Kent if we can mobilize the south end players.

The 2017 attendance (after February) was:

                May NLM 74.0 tables
                May Sectional 321.0
                July Sectional 236.5
                October Sectional 193.0
                October NLM 79.0

Thanks, John. This is interesting and helpful.

If it’s not too much trouble, could you also tell us what attendance the budget assumes for each of the remaining tournaments this year? Especially for those of us who haven’t been involved with Unit finances, that information would help us keep an eye on developments during the year.

Greetings, all –

I am sending you several financial items, in hopes that you will have a chance to review them before our next board meeting.

  1. My Financial Summary from Sweetheart Sectional at Vasa Park

This is attached to this message. See the Treasurer’s Notes at the end.

  1. The ACBL’s Financial Report to the Sponsor (Us) from the Sweetheart Sectional.

I am forwarding this lengthy, complex document to you separately.

  1. Budget, which I propose for the calendar year 2018. It is attached to this message.

There is one more item I hope to provide to you before the meeting.
Given the expressed concern about the size of our reserve, I have asked David Taylor to prepare for us a list of our principal physical assets, starting with our trailer; and the approximate replacement cost for each. He hopes to prepare this next week, and I will forward it to you as soon as I get it.

Incidentally, I have recently completed and filed two documents which we are required to submit annually. They are IRS Form 990 EZ; and our annual report to the Secretary of State of Washington, which we must file as a Washington nonprofit corporation. I will bring our file copies of these to our next meeting, and will provide copies to Ann, our President. If If any of you wishes to receive your own copy, let me know.

John L. Weinberg
