[SBU Board] Fridays at "Daylight" Tournaments - proposal summary

If we're suggesting changes to schedules (and this seems like a good
time to have that sort of discussion), some other suggested discussion
points/possible vote topics
1) Considering changing the pair event on Sunday of the KO sectional to
be single session. Currently anyone who makes the finals of any of the
bracketed KOs or loses the semifinal of the open KO has no good event to
play in that evening. They can play a single session of the 2 session
pairs, but the rewards are dismal.
2) Can we move the grass roots day of the KO sectional to a different
day? If so, maybe Friday or Monday? Currently on Saturday it has no
impact on the payout of the KOs so anyone who plays the feature event of
the sectional misses out on any grassroots possibility.
3) Is 10:30 and 3:30 the right time for a daylight schedule? What about
10 and 2:30 or 10:30 and 3? Looking at other sectionals, 4.5 hours
between start times seems a lot more common with 10 and 2:30 appearing
to be the most common start times. Some places are even doing 4.25
hours. For example, Knoxville went 10 and 2:15.
As one data point: a LOT of sectionals seem to run 3 events on Saturday
but I haven't seen many on Friday. It could an interesting experiment,
but might be worth considering trying proposal 1 + 2 on only 1 sectional
the first year to see how it goes (if the voting goes that way). Or
maybe we try it in February and make a decision on July after that.
