[SBU Board] Hospitality event for San Diego

Hi all

I've been thinking--there are a lot of our unit members who are headed
for San Diego for the Nationals.  We have in the past hosted a
hospitality event at the NABCs--most recently in St. Louis, where we
invite our members to come and have a drink or a nosh and chat.  In
the past the Unit has kicked in some money to help sponsor the event.


I propose that we do the same in San Diego.  I'm thinking that I'll
find a bar that is willing to host, and that we kick in $200 for
noshes, and members buy their own drinks.  I'm aiming to set this up
for the evening of November 28 (Tuesday).  We'll shoot out emails to
the Unit about the event when I know the location and details.

I have the unit debit card, so John won't have to write a check for
this.  I'll need some help with the email blast (JC?).  While I know a
lot of the folk from here who are going, I suspect there will be NLMs
attending (to get gold points) and I really want them to come!

A similar event was very successful in St. Louis (and I think we also
did this in Houston?)....  Great way to build morale, and keep members
in touch with their fellow players.

So....what say you?  Do I have your permission to proceed?
