[SBU Board] Grassroots normalization for microsoft trophy?

Sharon/Eric/et al,

I've had no previous visibility to this matter.  While I'm not sure I get the "fairness" rationale -- some might deem it unfair that some players work and thus cannot even play or "hit" on Friday afternoon whereas Saturday is the most heavily attended day of each sectional -- I of course respect a decision taken on this by the board some time ago.  It was probably taken at least 5 years ago, as I don't recall having heard it discussed or seen it documented -- perhaps it's in minutes of a board meeting.  

Thus of course we should continue the existing process wherein Sharon (generously) acquires the points w/o grassroots premium and bases trophy race tallies accordingly.

I'm cc'ing the entire board on this as some are probably in the same boat as me -- had no awareness of this.

Is there a feeling the incremental points for grass roots are tainted or diminished in some way?  They count toward rank advancement and Mini-McKenney awards, so it's unclear to me why they should not count toward the Microsoft Trophy.
