> Requirements of the BBO-ACBL Agreement

> The ACBL has entered into an agreement with Bridge Base, Inc, to exclusively provide bridge players with a platform to play online, both with human and robot partners, through Bridge Base Online (BBO). Swan Games Company and OKBridge, Inc. are allowed to continue to offer the online human games that they ran when the agreement was put into place in June 2016. The BBO agreement is in place through June 2020.

> Under this agreement, other than the exceptions mentioned above, BBO is licensed as the sole provider of online ACBL games, including any sanctioned online games that the ACBL develops through 2020. Accordingly, Districts and Units should not contract with, or partner with, any other online game companies or providers. > Directors-in-Charge of ACBL tournaments supervise other tournament directors, have direct access to ACBL financial systems in order to timely and accurately submit reports to ACBL headquarters, and are up-to-date on ACBL policies and procedures. Accordingly, to facilitate timely and efficient tournament operations, Directors-in-Charge of ACBL-sanctioned tournaments must be employees of the ACBL. This provision has not been strictly enforced in the past. We'd like to tighten things up as part of an effort to improve timely reporting of tournament results (via ACBL Live) and as part of an overall effort to improve the service our TDs provide.
