[SBU Board] Kent Sectional - Preliminary Financial Report

Greetings, all -

Attached is a preliminary financial report for our just-concluded sectional.
It is subject to change when and if additional expenditures show up, or if other modifications are needed.
But so far as I know, my information is complete.

As you will note, we ran a deficit of just under $300.
The principal reason, pretty clearly, was disappointing attendance: 216.5 tables, compared to 276.5 tables in October of 2015 in Bothell.
Running a deficit at a tournament is obviously not good, as we rely upon a surplus from our tournaments (and our share of membership fees) to support our other activities.
But it is not a disaster, either.  We are still “in the black” by about $5,160 for the year to date, thanks to the fact that we showed a surplus at each of our other three open tournaments.
But we should carefully examine what happened (or didn’t happen) in Kent, and act accordingly.
