[SBU Board] Preliminary Financial Results of NLM Tournament at Bothell, April 2016

Here are the preliminary results of our tournament last weekend

Total Receipts – entry fees received from Directors			$ 1,835.00

Total Expenditures						              ( 2,221.00)

Net Excess of Expenditures over Receipts				( $ 386.00)


Specifics of Expenditures:

Rent						640.16
Amount paid to ACBL				927.80
Transportation of Equipmt and Supplies		189.45
Hospitality (net of contributions)		139.07

Several points worth noting:

1.  Our table count was down substantially, compared to last year’s NLM in 03/15.	 Last year 80 tables; this year 54.5 tables. This might have been related to our selection of Bothell as a venue, instead of North Seattle College.  Last year we deposited about $1,000 more in entry fees.
2. It was definitely a plus for us to be sharing the venue with the Grand National Teams event, as DINO shared almost all of the expenses.  Without their contribution, our total deficit would have been over $1,200.
3. The ACBL fee was about $230 higher than last year, despite the sharp drop in attendance.  I have not yet analyzed why and how this occurred.
4. These numbers are subject to revision, as they were done less than 24 hours after the end of the tournament.  There might be additional expenditures or other items of which I am not yet aware.
