Hello, Leon. It's been a long time for me -- got burned out for awhile.

For the engineering systems we use at $dayjob, generously specified 
Lenovo T-series laptops are the preferred non-Apple system. I've run 
Fedora 19 and 20; Ubuntu 10xx, 12xx, and 14xx; and RHEL and CentOS 
releases 5 through 7 on a T440s. YMMV.
