None of the above. I have a set of tools that maintain ldap for our
linux system including ldap host and dns records. After creating a new
host entry, at present we have to login to a Windows server to enter
DNS information via the GUI. I want all of that to be handled by the
tool that maintains ldap (ie openldap not the Widows ldap function).

Maybe that's an answer. The company is very Windows centric, and the
Linux systems are concentrated in one department. At present,
authentication is handled separately for the two realms, although we
may implement Linux authentication via AD at some point. I'm just
interested in simplifying the process of creating new host entries for
both systems.
