Just want to let you know that I think this problem is solved. Once I knew 
what I was looking for I found a couple of parameters in Scanner Settings 
which seemed related: Max. E-mail Size, and, Divide & Send E-Mail. E-mail 
size had be set for 2 meg & IIRC Divide was set for a maximum of 5. I changed 
these settings to unlimited and do not divide and will see, over the coming 
weeks, whether we have any more problems.
