I live in a deep valley surrounded by hills and trees in rural north Arkansas. 
I've waited a decade+ for the dum-dums at AT&T and Suddenlink to run their wire

Got tired of waiting.

On one of those high hills I constructed a 30' tower, installed a solar 
charging system, and trenched-in a half mile of multimode fiber to my home office.

Now from my friend that runs a WISP I have 3M/768k with a static IP.

Pure heaven.

Yes you can get much faster stuff if you live in NYC or Seoul or such. But it's 
great to have that and be able to live *here*.
