Joomla hosting

Does anyone have any experience with companies offering Joomla hosting?
This is for a sailing club my daughter is in. There is a group of
supporters that want to have, as a start, this on the web:

 - news announcements
 - photos
 - calendars
 - polls 
 - templates

Seems they also would like to have a proper top-level domain name. Not a
name under a hoster's domain. The domain name can be obtained wherever.
It is just that the host has to support this.

It is a volunteer group, so cost is a big factor. I do not think it is a
high-traffic group. But when photos get involved, transfer limits are a
pita.

The reason they want Joomla is (1) my daughter has fiddled with it
before and (2) so have I.

Anyone have any pointers? I looked at Joomla hosting lists. But if
anyone has any experience one way or the other with some of these
companies, it would be good to know.
