Where have *you* been?  Apparently not on the SuSE list where this issue 
has been ongoing for nearly a year.  You need to go check out their 
archives to see what nuclear war the KDE way looks like.  But don't 
complain;  you will be considered to be a Luddite malcontent afraid of 
the next trends in user interface.  You will learn to say "plasmoids".

You will find a lot of like-minded people who have "downgraded" to KDE 3.5.

As the SuSE guys say:  "Have a lot of fun!"
