You could install kubuntu, but KDE anymore means KDE 4. From many accounts
I've seen, KDE 4 might not be what you want if you're used to/happy with KDE
3.5x.
As for installing KDE on Ubuntu, why not? Most distro's will happily let you
install multiple DEs.
