Converting to Ubuntu

Well, time to switch from my linspire/hybrid system. 

The only reason I am doing this is so I can get flash
player to work on my computer. My current OS is just too
old and messed up to upgrade.

Ubuntu has a lot differences, but the main one is the
desktop, Gnome vs KDE. I am used to KDE. Is there any
reason why I should not just install KDE in place of Gnome
with Ubuntu?
