Scratch that one. My friend Google found it. It's even in the Debian repository.

Now I need to find out how to get the sound card to stay unmuted.
xfce4 doesn't use the usual alsa_mixer, and when you open the xfce4
mixer, I can't find any way to save the settings.

Back to my friend, I suppose.
